Alannah Sears was born in New York in 1997, the third of four girls. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Painting and Drawing/Printmaking at Suny Purchase and will graduate in 2019. Alannah explores ideas surrounding family, culture, and the evolving environment around her, paying close attention to finding the beauty in the unobserved. Alannah has always felt she never really fit in with anyone, visually or conceptually; however, art was always a way she got a sense of belonging. She has participated in exhibitions with the Joan Mitchell Foundation and at the Forum Art Space at SUNY Purchase, where she also curated a collective show featuring over twenty artists that currently attend the college. She currently lives and works in New York, loving her three cats Talula, Rosey, and Alejandro.
