DR:3AM was born and raised in Bronx, NY in a predominantly Latino neighborhood.  Experiencing the sounds of Bachata, Merengue, Salsa, seeing graffiti-ridden trains, and enjoying the sweet taste of Italian Ices created this fascination for urban culture, and an adoration for the power self-expression plays within the community. The work she creates experiments and mimics the curiosity and wonder she has for street life and culture. DR:3AM uses media that relates to childhood experiences, such as candy and vibrant acrylic paints, while also trying to encompass a decadent and lavish undertone (hood-rich/ghetto-fabulous). Her practice is interdisciplinary; she paints, draws, blows glass, makes paper, and produces music.

“I feel like my biggest strengths are my ideas and my ability to adapt throughout the creative process. I am not afraid of mistakes, and my strongest work uses color, sculpture and abstraction, which is sometimes strengthened by unintended mishaps. Another strength of mine is composition; in my work, I always aim to create an experience for the audience to stimulate the senses whether it be visually, auditory, sensory, olfactory, and/or gustatory. “
